This fun picture sums up the magic of this weekend in Seaside Florida. I have to admit, I signed up for the retreat because I couldn’t wait to see my sweet friend Tricia and knowing the weekend would be full of worship and inspiring art but I did not predict the beautiful connections I would make with these women. I love the idea of a grown up art camp! I have taught little girls for so many years but never really took the time to be taught and oh man…I want more! There is something to be said for slowing life down for a few moments to awaken your creative soul.
I also have to admit I have gotten so wrapped up in my day to day job/mom duties that I haven’t prayed much lately. There’s nothing like sitting with a new friend and hearing her talk about her beautiful walk with God every day that makes you wake up and remember what life is all about. I love my job and I love my family but He needs to come first in my heart and I have left him out lately. If you feel like I do, reach out to that friend that inspires you and have coffee with her/him. Your soul will thank you!
Ok..so for some fun pics that filled our retreat with sparkle and magic:
We sat down to a gorgeous dinner the first night before we started our creative journey.
Before paper…I couldn’t believe I actually made it look like a bike! So proud of myself!
I can’t wait to fill my suitcase with bits of my sparkle and life journey. My plan is to keep adding paper that shows where I’ve been and where I would like to go. Of course Paris is on my list!
Here’s a sneak peek into Tricia’s mom’s beach house in Seagrove. She has her paintings in every room. Can you imagine staying here with your family while enjoying the beach!
It rained all weekend here so beach time was limited to eating under a pavilion and watching the waves. I love it when it rains at the beach…something mysterious about it.
Dinner at George’s in Alys Beach was amazing!!!!
Goodbye sweet Kindred friends! Thank you for all the inspiration and wisdom this weekend.
