A magical tea party photo session Austin Texas

She’s a dreamer, a twirler, lover of life and giggles to her heart’s content.

Welcome to my first “Uniquely Me” photo session for children.

Part of being a child photographer is to be able to feel like a child yourself while you are shooting your session.  I think I am in the right profession considering I wanted to sit right down with the girls and pour tea with them.  LOL

This was such a magical shoot from beginning to end.  Let me share some details with you that will warm your heart.  Grab a cup of coffee and swoon over these beautiful little faces with me.  Leading up to a shoot like this takes lots of planning, dreaming and building.  After talking with the mommas of this vision, I quickly began building the dreamy canopy.  I love making my props from re purposed materials.  This is made only of ripped sheets and paper glitter stars. I also shopped around for fun pillows and decided on the colors: white, gold, pink and black.  All of these pillows were found at one of my favorite stores: Target.

I knew we needed something soft and glittery hanging above the girls to give that dreamy look.  As I was building it, I realized how much I created an outdoor bedroom scene.  I think it totally worked with the bokeh(glittery glow of light) behind them.

This book also reminded me of the girls love for fashion.  Did you happen to see the beautiful little sequins dresses they are wearing?  The Coco Chanel children’s book by Vegara was a perfect addition for their magical afternoon.

Donuts, french macarons and glitter tea were center stage for the girls and their babies.  Remember the days of pretend and dreaming of what you will be when you grow up?  These girls were giggling and dancing throughout our session together.

The girls were so excited when I pulled out the glitter.  They must have filled their little hands 3 or 4 times to blow this magical dust into the air.  (side note to photographers: bring along wet wipes to clean their hands after).

I loved seeing Harley’s face as she started to pour the tea(glitter).

Friends forever!

Time to end our sweet day together with a little dance party!

Enjoy the little things and life and don’t forget to twirl!
